This beetle shell-colored wine is laced with amber. Its nose is highly ripe, with notes of figs, black raisins and dates. The palate is round and lush, with integrated tannins that are appropriate for a wine that is advancing in maturation. Happily, the wine’s density and serious ripeness is nicely supported by refreshing acidity. Ready to drink now, it doesn’t hurt to serve this full-bodied and noticeably alcoholic red at a fresher temperature.
