This wine’s black core offers a brooding nose of bloody red meat, blackcurrants and menthol. Medium-plus in body, with a viscous mouthfeel, it has lifting, vibrant acidity that offers good support. The moderate finish shows burnt charcoal and cola flavors. It is ready to drink now—preferably with an hour of decanting—and through 2018.
