The deep, black-inflected, Burgundy-hued core is rimmed with maroon. Massively ripe aromas of black fig, prune and baked plum are interwoven with sweet vanilla and damp earth. The palate favors savory elements like peat and evergreen. Nicely concentrated with modest complexity, the finish is solidly medium. The buoyant acidity chisels the wine’s structure into shape, aided by the attractively dusty tannins. A generously ripe style that is well executed and may age well to benefit over the next 2-3 years.
