This bubbly’s strikingly deep yellow color borders on gold. The nose is reticent but manages to give up some bruised apple and wet wool notes. On the palate the fruit is deeply ripe and showing some age with its steeped-tea flavors. The attack is initially flat, but the acidity kicks in on the finish. The bubbles are big and slightly brawny, giving the wine a slightly coarse texture. The modest finish focuses on the massively ripe apple flavors along with a hint of bread crust.
