This wine’s core is saturated in black and surrounded by a tiny magenta rim. A bit reticent on the nose but full-flavored on the palate, this wine shows no shortage of fruit—red and black plums, açai, pomegranate—along with attractive woodsy undertones. The attack is very ripe but definitively dry. Full bodied with perceptible alcohol, the wine is well-balanced by its vaguely drying tannins and fresh acidity. It’s a chunky, strapping wine that is settling down well in the bottle. It likely drinks best now through 2016, though it has the structure to hold on a bit longer.
