Deep cherry in color with a slightly cloudy core, this wine is effusive on the nose with notes of cherry licorice, violets, rhubarb, dried cranberries and beef bouillon. There is a whisper of residual sugar on the attack, but it is quickly cleaned up by the wine’s low-intensity tannins and bustling acidity. This light-bodied wine would work well lightly chilled and is definitely perfect for a picnic or charcuterie. Drink 2013–2015.
