This pours a tar-like color at the core, laced with rust inflections. The nose is highly evolved, with notes of dried earth, black plum and beef jerky. While the nose still has some kick, the palate is quite evolved and lacking in generosity as well as complexity. The structure is clearly defined. Though definitely past its prime, there’s enough stuffing and intrigue here to query about younger vintages. Drink up this one now.
