Almost impenetrable from the core to the tiny red-cherry rim, this wine is quite reticent on the nose. Its nose is dark and brooding, with notes of tar, ground cinnamon, nougat and cherry cough syrup. Caressing in texture, it has a highly polished palate, with discreetly integrated acidity. High in alcohol, it is a bit ambitious in its ripeness, also evidenced by its extraction and ripe fruit flavors. It’s drinking well now, but is on the cusp of needing more freshness, so don’t delay.
