Hither & Yon 2020
Carignan (McLaren Vale)
|
Smelling of warm earth and baked cherries, this succulent red is like a bear hug on the palate. It’s plush, welcoming and comforting. Broad with custardy tannins and head-turning, chiseled acidity, this is about as refreshing and approachable as a young red can get. This despite the fact the wine is generous - though very well-balanced - in abv. Flavors of wild red berry preserves, sloe jam, garrigue and pencil ss deliver good flavor intrigue on the palate. While definitely a crowd-pleaser, this red is all upfront fun with a fairly short finish. Still, this is a great casual wine for those looking for something different. Drink now–2024.
