Deep black at the core with scarlet lacing throughout and along the meniscus, this wine shows a nicely perfumed nose of allspice and cedar. The forest fruits are morphing into tertiary notes on the palate, especially cigar wrapper and antique trunk. It is texturally demanding with slightly gruff and grippy tannins and spritely acidity. Its moderately concentrated fruit and rather quick finish suggest this is a wine for drinking sooner rather than later with richer, full-flavored dishes. Drink through 2015.
