Tomich Hill 2020 Hilltop
Pinot Noir (Adelaide Hills)
Pale and see-through at the core, this youthful wine smells of strawberry jam and cola. Nicely dense on the medium-bodied midpalate, the moderately dense tannins are tightly grained and the acidity is firm yet integrated. While approachable now, this should settle down in bottle. As the wine opens up in the glass, a clear feral and earthy undertone infiltrates the palate and detracts from the overall fruit focus of the wine. Drink now–2023.
