Whistle Post 2012
Cabernet Sauvignon (Coonawarra)
|
This wine has a dynamic nose of tar, beef bouillon and tree bark. The attack is hearty and firm, with strict tannins dominating. The acidity isn’t a wallflower, but it definitely takes a back seat in the structure maze. The flavors range from dried blackcurrant and boysenberry to dried beef and roasted walnuts. The alcohol is lightly pronounced on the palate, but it doesn’t make the wine feel heavy on the medium finish. Suavely crafted, this is drinking very well now. Drink now through 2020.
