Black as tar, with a purple-inflected rim, this wine smells of freshly fermented juice. Blueberry, sloe jam, baking spice and licorice abound. It coats the palate with juicy goodness but is neither sweet nor cloying. Though super primary on the nose, there’s a decidedly mineral tone to the medium-length finish. Great energy, balance and deliciousness are present here. While this has the wherewithal to hold, it is surely most catching as a fresher drink enjoy now through 2017.
