Bold in color, with a beetle shell core and a deep crimson rim, this wine’s nose has nicely evolved aromas of cigar box, cedar chest and dried spice as well as baked cobbler fruit and dried blueberry. The tannins are chewy but suited to the wine’s full body, and the medium acidity is well integrated. On the finish, hints of oak influence in the form of crushed vanilla bean and cinnamon. More of a classic style and well executed, the medium-length finish and the fact this wine has aged well point to this wine’s solid quality. Drink now through 2018.
