This wine’s dark crimson core and brick-colored rim suggest a wine that is at least 4–5 years old. Its aromas consist of dried leaves, cigar box, North African spices and baked strawberries. The palate follows suit and adds dusty, dried earth. The tannins are tightly grained and lightly reinforced by the generous but integrated acidity. The last effect on the finish is a sensation of light dryness that works best with food. This wine is just holding on and should be enjoyed through mid-2016.
