A deep red color with lead pencil streaks starts off a volatile nose that holds generous fresh fruit character and unthrottled oak aromas. Prune and kirsch overtones are smartly supported by red raspberry jam highlights. The fruit moves into the wings on the palate, where oak takes over. Green and lightly astringent tannins dominate the mouthfeel. Moderate acidity hovers and provides additional support for the full body. Medium finish. Drink now to 2014 as the oak will not integrate much more going forward.
