Jet-black at the core, this wine has a small magenta rim. Its color is glass-staining. The aromas smell of cola, licorice, menthol, amaro and cassis. There’s a smoothness on the attack that quickly turns very firm on the palate. The tannins have a coarse, sandpaper texture that dries the moderate finish. Its noticeable acidity crackles on the back of the palate, making it feel a touch disjointed. The blackberry and black currant flavors are quite simple, and there is no need to wait for the tannins to resolve, as this wine’s modest complexity suggests it should be drunk up in its youth.
