An impenetrable black core with a purple-mauve rim introduces this wine. Sweaty saddle, spicy cigar and late-summer figs dominate the nose. Underbrush, creosote and blackberry join on the palate. Despite the medium-plus body, the palate feels lifted with the generous acidity and moderate tannins. Medium finish. Drink now–2016, with the ability to develop to benefit in the bottle.
