Dark yet brilliant, this is a purple wine with deep ruby inflections. Game, dried thyme and fresh-laid tar aromas lead to a similar palate where hemlock, black currant and toasted pecan join the flavors. The chewy mouthfeel is cut somewhat short by rather stern tannins. Medium-plus acidity adds freshness and the lack of viscosity makes this a good wine for food. Drink now and over the next three years.
