Inky dark at the core, this wine has a petite scarlet rim. Its fruit aromas are less forthcoming than its other scents, namely baking spice, dried pecan pith, gunpowder and toasted grain. The wine sits in the center of the palate with full-bodied intensity, and its layered flavors linger a while. Deserving of a hearty meal, this wine drinks well now, and its solid, intense flavors should allow it to develop into something equally pleasant over the next many years. Drink now through 2019.
