Funky, somewhat developed aromas emerge from the glass of this garnet-hued wine. Rust, pine needle-strewn forest floor and old bay leaves mingle with tart red fruits on the nose. Juicy on the attack, the wine shows mildly dusty and dry tannins that interact seamlessly with the lively, well-placed acidity. A touch rustic, this definitely delivers lovely flavors, even if it finishes a bit abruptly. Go ahead and drink this up now through 2016.
