This Grenache-Mourvèdre blend boasts a forward and slightly funky nose that’s replete with scents of dark cherries, animal and spent black tealeaves. The palate is full-throttle in its intensity, with bramble, briar and peat. The full body is lifted by buoyant acidity, while it’s generously spicy on the medium finish, with polished yet structured tannins. It drinks well now and its leathery notes show it has already evolved to some benefit. However, its layered texture should allow it to age further to benefit through mid-2017.
