This wine boasts a rose-cherry color, with a light earthy note on the nose followed by crushed ripe strawberries. The palate fruit comes across as lightly candied, with a hint of vanilla extract. The tannins aren’t crushing, but each sip needs to be followed by a toss back of water or a bite of rich food. The modest concentration is a bit watery and the layers of flavor are few, thin and belittled by the wine’s crackling acidity. Drink now through 2017.
