Dark black at the core, this wine has a brick-tinged rim. It smells of pipe tobacco, well-worked leather and savory spice. The palate is firm and focused, with strapping tannins and integrated, lifting acidity. Drinking well now, this wine is clearly evolving and is best in the near future. Younger vintages should surely be attractive as well drink now through 2018.
