This wine has a sultry, dark black core and a tiny crimson rim. It’s unrelenting on the nose, but its palate is saturated with layers of flavor, beginning with blueberry pie filling, followed by fresh black cherries and then finishing on notes of ripe black plums. There are also hints of incense and tobacco. There’s just enough sultry, ripe fruit and gritty funk to make this pretty darn cool and quite enjoyable. Drink now through 2018.
