Medium-deep in color, this wine has crimson running through its core. It’s firm on the attack but then softens on the palate, showcasing lightly dusty tannins and thirst-quenching acidity. The flavors of tealeaves and leather show this wine is advancing, and it is doing so in an attractive manner. It tastes like a basket of black forest fruits hit with a dash of sweet vanilla. It’s a good pairing for a balsamic vinegar-glazed flank steak or beef fajitas. Drink now through 2018.
