This wine’s core is as black as tar yet sports a perky, magenta rim. The nose is vibrant and focused on crunchy blackberry, fresh-chopped tree branches and jalapeño. A dynamic palate shows moderate extraction and a creamy texture followed by a waterfall of acidity that keeps the refreshment pumping through the glass. The finish is moderate, but there’s a nicely earthy nuance to it. This is a tasty bistro wine that works equally well by the glass or carafe. Drink now through 2017.
