This wine’s dark crimson core is showing brick notes. Its aromas are subtle but have definitely evolved past their youthful stage. Leather, tobacco and fallen leaves gather for the aromatic focus. If there is oak here, it is either old or blended into the wine by now. The tannins are brisk but not obtrusive and the acidity is bright. This wine may be just slightly past its peak, but it’s a pleasant drink now. Drink by early 2014.
