This wine has an intense and youthful nose of peach fuzz, tangerine peel and marzipan. The palate is similiarly intense and even a bit heavy, with yeasty and bready notes. Medium in body, its acidity is nicely integrated, and the lightly phenolic texture provides lift. The persistent autolytic character suggests this is an ambitious wine, but the leesy character almost dominates the fruit. The wine has a medium-length finish, with notes of flax seed and wildflower honey, but its compact palate needs a bit more lift and liveliness. Enjoy through 2018.
