Dark black at the core, this wine has a tiny, rusty rim. Its nose is nicely evolved, with scents of tobacco and beef jerky as well as intriguing high tones of mint. The palate, however, feels leathery and dried-out. It’s not without appeal as a well-aged wine suited to the table. However, it is Scrooge-like in its fruit freshness and generosity as well as its drying structure. Drink now.
