The dark black, cherry-stained core of this wine has a tiny but bright purple-inflected rim. The nose smells of charcoal, cinnamon and cassis. The attack is concentrated and pleasantly extracted, forming a delicious, flavor-filled layer across the palate. The tannins are cuddling and the perky acidity is seamlessly imbedded in the wine’s full body. The finish lingers with notes of fertile forest floor and oozing-ripe mulberries. Drink now through 2019.
