Flaxen yellow in color, this wine has a bold and imposing nose of beeswax, chamomile tealeaves, ginger, fennel and sweet peach. Though dynamic and multifaceted, its pithy character, full body and lingering finish suggest this is much more than a sipper. The lightly nutty nose and hints of vanilla extract suggest some new oak while the creamy midpalate suggests time on lees. This is drinking beautifully now, but should have the structure and dynamism of flavor to hold on several years enjoy through 2019.
