Deep black at the core, with a small magenta rim, the nose of this wine is cram-packed with ripe berry flavors—boysenberry, blueberry and mulberry. It’s also seriously inflected with ganache, baking spice and caramel-glazed pecans, along with a sexy touch of meat jus. The palate is full-on in both fruit and oak flavors, too, with oodles of mouth-coating viscosity and voluptuous tannins. There’s just enough bright acidic balance to keep the ship on keel, making this a nice drink at a casual bar. Drink now through 2018.
