This wine has a flushed, deep yellow appearance. The nose is promising, with savory, non-fruit tones of beeswax, herbal tea and pine nut. However, the vanilla and toast oak effects are taxing on the palate and obliterate the attractive aromatic nuances of the wine. The modest finish also suggests that perhaps the oak impression has simply outlasted the fresh fruit character. It’s medium bodied, with pleasant juiciness but only borderline acidic refreshment. Drink now–2018.
