Opaque and carbon black at the core, this wine musters a tiny, dark magenta rim. Palate saturating in medium-plus glycerol and decidedly overripe black fruits, this is a bruiser. The copious, full body feels almost leaden thanks to the flabby acidity and creamy tannins. Straightfoward and simple, with flavors of licorice and overripe black currants, this wine needs some refreshment and structure. Still, many sippers will appreciate its cuddly character and delightfully pure fruit. Drink now–2018.
