While the nose is certainly intense, this wine comes on a bit strong with its massive fruit and new oak. It’s a bit rough on the palate, as the tannins are gritty and not quite in balance with the medicinal red-cherry and ripe-berry flavors. Possessing a concentrated fruit core, the aggressive, dusty tannins and lack of integration throws it off the rails a bit.
