Midnight black in appearance, this is a big, boisterous wine. It is soaked with baking spices and dark black cherries. The moderate finish advances into damp earth and even peaty notes. With air, prunes and figs come out, too. Though not for the long haul given its relative simplicity, there’s nonetheless good acidic tang here. Drink now–2018.
