This wine has an exuberant and exotic oak-driven nose. The palate is drenched with baking rack spices and dense black fruits, especially berries and currants. There’s very good fruit intensity here, showing in the solid finish. The oak tones, however, last even longer and, along with the jagged tannins and angular acidity, outshine the fruit on the palate. Nonetheless, the standout components may settle down with another six to twelve months. Drink 2018–2020.
