Raven black at the core, this wine has a pronounced magenta rim. The powerful nose smells of creosote, loganberries and plush figs. On the attack, the hefty body is framed by lightly bristling tannins that are reinforced by spritely acidity. The intense palate transitions into a lingering finish, with brooding fruit and damp earth flavors. With all this power, it would seem to be a wine for the long haul, yet it is mostly straightforward in flashy ripeness and is drinking well now.
