A touch of cloudiness peeks through this wine’s dark appearance, and its reticent nose proves just as mysterious. This first sip, however, shows a wine ready to reveal all. Its flavors of mulberries, eucalyptus, aloe and bay leaf are nicely developed and saturate the finish. Interestingly, it’s the wine’s plant- and herb-based flavors that add the freshness, and they nicely prop-up the boisterous body in place of the rather laid-back acidity. The medium-length finish indicates this is better slurped up in the near- to medium-term. Drink now–2020.
