Seriously savory, dried cherry and cranberry tones pop on the nose. Anise, dried tobacco leaf, roasted prime rib and cola seep into the palate. Medium-plus in body, the alcohol is well-balanced by bustling acidity and chewy tannins. It is developing nicely and has the poise to continue to mature well in bottle. This absolutely needs decanting for a half hour to stir its personality. Drink now–2022.
