This wine is big and bold in a come-hither sort of way. The nose is supremely fruit-driven in a black currant tone. Mocha-dusted cocoa beans bring a nicely modern edge to the palate on this otherwise firm wine in need of bottle aging. A preview of its potential can be seen in its lingering flower garden inflections on the perky licorice-driven finish that delivers lots of minty freshness. Give this two to three years and it should open up nicely. Drink 2020–2023.
