This raven- colored wine smells like fertilizer and dry rocks. The wine is full-bodied, with flavors of mulberries and blueberries highlighted by a hint of evergreen. Broad, sinewy tannins arise on the palate, yet there’s plenty of midpalate plumpness to even things out. The buoyant acidity extends the finish, which is generously flavored with mulberry, pomegranate and a bit of aloe. Drink now–2020.
