Full on black in color with a tiny mulberry rim, this wine’s aromas of cassis, black cherry and licorice leap out of the glass. The youthful and sappy attack is boisterous in plump, black fruits. A well-integrated structure of lifting acidity and moderately firm, seamless tannins carries the flavors into a medium finish of ash and mulch tones. There’s plenty of concentration here, as well as a solid backbone to allow the wine to age for several years. Drink now–2022.
