Showing a touch of development in its brick-tinged rim, as well as tones of fallen autumn leaves and sun-scorched earth, this wine seems to be approaching its peak. There are attractive and well-evolved flavors of smashed black plums lifted by fresh leather and barbecue spice. The textured tannins have nicely melted into the rounded palate, while bustling acidity offers a solid edge. The medium finish shows both toasty oak notes and mature fruits. Drink now–2020.
