This is a serious and sultry wine, from its deep black core to its concentrated, lingering finish. The flavors are pleasant and clean, offering thoroughly ripe notes of black plum and cassis intertwined with licorice, scrub brush and tar. It's a bit of a hulk, with mouthcoating viscosity, intense flavor and noticeable alcohol. Smooth tannins allow this to be enjoyed on its own, even if the mild mannered acidity is a bit light for such a full-throttle wine. Drink now–2023.
