This wine’s aromas just can’t stay in the glass, offering a vivacious mix of candied cherry, red licorice and tangerine peel. The soft palate adds in wild strawberries and shows almost no pretension of tannins, save the tiniest back palate grip on the moderate finish. The acidity is mild and measured but nicely lifting. It is a bit of a tricky balance. While the fruit grabs the taster at the start, the structure dominates on the short finish. Drink now–2022.
