Supremely ripe on the nose, this wine smells of blackberry preserves, cassis, roasted figs and prunes. The palate contrasts sharply to the dramatic nose—the concentration is modest and the fruit is dramatically simple. There is a green edge to the finish in contrast with the exceedingly ripe fruit aromas. The acidity shows refreshment, but the tannins are papery. This finish is extremely short and overall the elements don’t mesh together well. Drink now.
