The brooding nose on this wine remained closed during the tasting. Its fruit is vibrant and youthful, so it may need time to sort out in the bottle or it may need a vigorous decanting. Sculpted tannins and lively acidity do a nice job framing this hulking wine. From attack to finish, the wine carries flavors of elderberry, sloe, baking spice and caramel. Drink now–2025.
