This wine has a lifted, smoky nose laced with sweet cherries and plums. The monolithic palate is bold and broad with slightly heavy extract and evident alcohol. The tannins are densely packed yet svelte, and there is a nice acidic bite offering lift on the back palate. Cassis, loganberry, savory spice and a hint of incense offer intrigue on the palate. The primary fruit is beginning to transition into tertiary characters, suggesting this wine is evolving and ready to drink. Drink now–2024.
